Roman pottery Unguentarium. Circa 1st-2nd century CE. 122mm. A dark grey clay bottle with an elongated cylindrical neck tapering gently into a conical body that sits upon a flat flared foot. Used to contain ointments (unguent), medicine, cosmetics or perfume.
